British MotoGP Media Programme
Event Management, Sponsorship Activation, Strategy and Planning
Challenge
The British MotoGP presented Castrol with a high-profile opportunity to put the brand at the heart of one of the UK’s biggest motorsport events and connect with highly engaged motorcycle and automotive audiences.
To maximise the opportunity, Castrol wanted to create memorable experiences for influential media and content creators, generating authentic, high-quality content while bringing its partnerships and presence within MotoGP to life.
The challenge was to deliver more than a standard race weekend experience, combining exclusive access with seamless operational management to create genuine opportunities for behind-the-scenes storytelling.
Key Metric
- 200+ pieces of social content published
- 6x+ the original content target delivered
- 12m+ social audience reached
- 2m approximately engagements generated
- 80% of content featured Castrol brand messaging
- Instagram, X and YouTube all contributed to campaign output
Solution
Drawing on our specialist motorsport expertise and long-standing relationships with MotoGP rights holders, we designed and delivered a fully managed media programme from arrival through to departure.
Our team managed accommodation, transport, hospitality, accreditation and guest logistics, while curating a programme of exclusive experiences designed to bring guests closer to the sport and Castrol’s role within it.
These included:
- Garage tours
- Paddock access and guided tours
- Media accreditation management
- Safety Car laps of the Silverstone circuit
- Exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences throughout the MotoGP weekend
We also hosted a carefully selected group of leading automotive and motorcycle content creators from a priority international market.By giving creators access beyond a standard race weekend, we created authentic opportunities to capture and share content around the sport, the Castrol brand and its partnerships, extending the impact of the event across highly engaged social audiences.
Results
The programme exceeded the original content target by more than six times, generating more than 200 pieces of social content across the British MotoGP weekend.
Content reached more than 12 million people and generated approximately 2 million engagements across social platforms, with Instagram accounting for the majority of output, supported by X and YouTube.
Castrol remained prominent throughout the campaign, with nearly 80% of all content featuring brand messaging.
Content brought key campaign themes to life, including Castrol POWER1, Honda HRC Castrol, rider partnerships and exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the MotoGP paddock.
